HOW KEYSTONE BEGAN: I had an interest in event planning for a while, but with a full-time teaching job and two kids, I didn’t see how it could fit in my life. BUT, after helping cover a wedding for a friend, I decided try out coordinating on my own on the side. After 12 years teaching middle and high school English, I needed a change, and decided to go all-in, making Keystone my full-time gig, allowing me to stay home in the day with my youngest and use my type-A organization and leadership skills and my creativity in the MOST FUN way.

FAVORITE TYPE OF PLANNING: Split partial & full-service—I love getting to play a role in the creation of event on top of the execution of them!

FAVORITE PART OF A WEDDING: Watching partners see each other for the very first time, whether it be for a first look or walking down the aisle—I love to see their reactions!

FAVORITE PART OF MY OWN WEDDING: My unique venue—we got married at Everett Farms in Pisgah Forest, NC back in May 2015 and our venue had beautiful mountain views along with inside and outside spaces (with cows!) for our guests to enjoy.

IF I COULD DO MY OWN WEDDING OVER AGAIN, I WOULD: This is hard, because I’ve seen SO MANY amazing wedding ideas. But, I would probably have a microwedding with our closest of our family & friends, no wedding party, and just share a delicious meal together.

FAVORITE WEDDING TREND: Colored/patterned wedding dresses! I LOVE seeing how women are expressing themselves in things that make them feel beautiful, no matter the color.

WHAT I DO TO RELAX: I love spending time with my family outside, listening to audiobooks, cooking, and sneaking in some spa treatments when I can!

WHO YOU’D FIND ON MY PLAYLIST: Okay, so this is skewed because I share a Spotify with my 4- and 6- year-olds, but MY listens are pretty exclusively 2000s music—country, boy bands, emo rock, hip hop—if it’s from 2000-2008, it’s probably on my Daily Lists.

FAVORITE SHOW EVER: The Office! I truly makes me laugh, no matter how many times I watch it. Fav episode? “DINNER PARTY”.

GO-TO COFFEE ORDER: Currently a gingerbread cappuccino with an extra shot or a sweet cream cold brew…also with an extra shot…
